"Cocotte-Minute" is a riotously funny movie for all except for those, such as some prominent individuals in my own family, who do not eat meat. The chefs are ready, sharpening their knives, the salt and pepper is added to the cooking pots, and the two chickens are in the cages preparing for lunch. They just need to be let out of the cages in their frantic race for the chopping block. Outside it is wondrously sunny and colourful. It is poignant that on such a day they are on the menu for tonight. Six students from Gobelins, l'école de l'image, in Paris took six months to prepare this supreme dish. No wonder it was chosen as one of the opening shorts for Annecy 2006.
