Emru Townsend

I want to carry a plea for support for Canadian, Emru Townsend, the founding editor of one of the leading blogs on animation, Frames Per Second, the chair of the SIGGRAPH 2008 Computer Animation Festival, creator of 5x5 Media and a series of illuminating podcasts. Emru has leukemia and he and his friends used all their considerable energy to find a suitable bone marrow doner. I read a very moving update from him in Betsy de Fries’ blog, A Cumulus. It was written on the 29th October. Emru has set up a website, Heal Emru and within the UK there is an article written by him for ACLT - ACLT is a voluntary charity, whose main aim is to increase the number of Black, Mixed Race and Ethnic Minority people on the UK Bone Marrow Register. Emru’s blog to chronicle his disease The Accidental Blog is an honest account of his brave fight against this terrible disease.
