Syd Garon & Johannes Gamble "Planets” (2009)

Are you the right side, "passionate about creativity" or the left side, "obsessed with technology"? I know a place for you where the two sides unite: the University of Technology, Sydney. Planets directed by Syd Garon and Johannes Gamble is a powerful advocacy for the institution albeit with colourful potato figures competing against cuddly robots in a war of the worlds until two minds converged and peace reigned. In a rather portentous narration, accompanied by a similar soundtrack, the resolute tone is belied by gunge the different races hurl at each other; and as I like potato men and women I guess it makes me right side. Nice touch with the university beaming out its right and left side communication from a 3D planet. Another piece from Curious Film. The link is to the excellent Boards though the equally unmissable No Fat Clips has a download.
